On chatgpt.com, customers in the EEA can pay by bank debit through Link where it is supported, and may be asked for Strong Customer Authentication at purchase or renewal. An existing subscription keeps its billing currency; to switch, OpenAI says to cancel and subscribe again after the current period ends. Source: OpenAI multi-currency billing.
Go is the entry plan; OpenAI’s pricing page says it may include ads. Pro is billed monthly only. New Pro 200 subscriptions are open again, but subscribers who do not qualify for OpenAI’s grandfathering get a lower usage allowance than Pro 200 used to include. Pro 500 is the only Pro plan with Ultrafast access. Source: About ChatGPT Pro tiers.

Web checkout prices in Germany
OpenAI, Anthropic and Google set web prices by the visitor’s location. We checked from outside Germany, so the tables above use the German App Store listings, which Apple sets per country. Web checkout can be lower or higher. To see yours, open chatgpt.com/pricing, claude.com/pricing and one.google.com/about/plans from Germany.
In Canada, where we could compare both on the same day, the web was cheaper for ChatGPT Go, ChatGPT Pro 100, ChatGPT Pro 500, Claude Pro (annual) and Claude Max 5×, and about the same for ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro (monthly) and Google AI Pro (5 TB). See the Canadian price comparison.
Are ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini available in Germany?
Yes. On October 19, 2026, Germany was on each provider’s list of supported locations: ChatGPT supported countries, Anthropic supported countries (Claude apps and API) and Gemini web app availability. Individual features can still arrive later in some countries, so check a feature’s own help page before you pay for it.
Tax and payment in Germany
- App Store prices include VAT: Apple says advertised prices include taxes in every storefront except the US and Canada (Apple).
- In Germany, Apple requires you to approve any increase to an App Store subscription price; without approval the subscription ends at the close of the current billing period (Apple).
- On chatgpt.com, OpenAI bills EEA customers in EUR and supports bank debit through Link where available (OpenAI).
How we checked these prices
We captured the German App Store pages for ChatGPT, Claude and Google Gemini between 21:31 and 21:32 UTC on October 19, 2026 and kept a copy of each page with its SHA-256 hash. The prices come from Apple’s in-app purchase list, which shows an app’s most popular purchases rather than every plan. We left out purchases that Apple lists twice under the same name without showing the billing term: a second ChatGPT Plus entry at €229.00 (the same price as Pro 200). US prices come from Kingy’s AI Plans & Limits reference, checked the same day.
