What It Does
An AI image-and-video workspace with generation, canvas workflows, and the Octo creative agent.
Full Guide
Dreamina is CapCut’s AI image-and-video workspace. Its Octo experience connects character, voice, object, environment, storyboard and shot references on one canvas instead of treating every generation as a separate prompt.
Verdict
Useful for exploratory, character-led previsualization; not ready to become a dependable production standard. The connected canvas can reduce the repeated prompting and continuity drift common in multi-scene AI video. Octo remains a gradually rolled-out closed beta, however, with no stable public paid rate card, guaranteed account access, public API or documented enterprise approval workflow.
Best for
- Solo filmmakers and small creative teams developing characters across several scenes.
- Concept artists who want reusable character, object and environment references.
- Creators who need a visible link between a story brief, storyboard and generated clips.
Wait if you need procurement-ready pricing, guaranteed availability, repeatable batch production, exact cost per finished minute or a rights workflow that can survive client approval.
Current pricing and access
Checked July 28, 2026: Dreamina describes Octo as a closed beta with gradual account rollout. An official Dreamina page says the beta is currently free before formal pricing is introduced, and the main site advertises free daily credits. No stable public Octo rate card was found in the official sources reviewed. Credit balances and per-shot values visible in individual accounts are not public plan prices.
What Kingy tested
In the related June 9 video, Curtis opened Octo, uploaded one portrait, added an Eleven v2 text-to-speech node, expanded the character into full-body references, generated 16:9 environment plates, selected a cove-and-cave story direction, built a five-scene board and assembled a connected short from selected shots.
The recording supports that specific hands-on sequence. It does not establish repeatability, total attempts, rejected shots, elapsed time, export settings, production rights, cost per usable shot or access for another account.
What changed after filming
The filmed workflow names Seedance 2.0. Dreamina’s current Octo surface also promotes Seedance 2.5 and broader image-model options, but its connected-workflow documentation still names Seedance 2.0. The original project was not rerun on 2.5, and current navigation labels do not prove which model generated a past asset.
