Bolt.new is StackBlitz’s browser-based AI builder for creating, running and publishing full-stack web applications from natural-language instructions.
Bolt combines an unusually fast browser build loop with integrated hosting, but token use grows with project context. Buyers should compare the selected token tier, hosting limits and team-member count—not just the headline plan name.

StackBlitz, Inc. operates Bolt.new. StackBlitz’s WebContainers runtime powers the browser development environment. Bolt Cloud, agents, hosting, databases and generated apps are product components or outputs, not alternate company or product identities.

Project context drives token cost
Most token use comes from Bolt reading and synchronizing project files, so larger projects can consume more per message. Free includes one million monthly tokens with a 300,000 daily limit. Free tokens do not roll over. Paid subscription tokens can remain valid for up to two months while an active paid subscription continues.
The paid-plan price changes with the selected monthly token amount. A plan name without its token tier is not a complete cost comparison.
Hosting limits can stop a live site
Free hosting
Up to 10 GB bandwidth and 333,333 requests monthly. Sites stop serving after the hard limit until reset.
Pro hosting
Up to 30 GB and one million requests monthly, with pay-as-you-go capacity controlled by a spending cap.
Publishing
All users can publish to a free .bolt.host domain. Paid plans add custom-domain and private-sharing features.
Security responsibility
Bolt scans published projects, but buyers still need to review database permissions, dependencies, secrets and application logic.
Project data is excluded from agent training; de-identified improvement use remains
Bolt documentation says project data is not used to train AI agents. The Privacy Policy separately permits aggregated, anonymized or de-identified AI Inputs and Outputs to operate, maintain and improve the service. Relevant prompt attachments may be sent to contracted AI providers to generate responses.
Retention is category-specific
- Active-account information and content remain while the account is active and as needed for service and legal purposes.
- After voluntary closure, deletion or anonymization is promised within 30 days, subject to backups, legal duties, security and fraud controls.
- Residual backup and log copies may persist for a limited period.
Your content remains yours; generated code still needs review
The StackBlitz Terms do not claim ownership of user-submitted data, but users remain responsible for legality, ownership and third-party rights. The current Terms expressly grant commercial service use to Teams and Enterprise customers; they do not promise that every dependency or generated output is universally cleared.
Bolt warns that underlying models can produce inaccurate or outdated results. Test the application, inspect dependencies and review security before production use.
