Historical interface
AI Magic Tools and Inpainting: where the old workflow went
Older Runway coverage used “AI Magic Tools” for standalone editing utilities. Inpainting was the object-removal workflow: a user brushed a mask over an unwanted subject, previewed the result and added keyframes where the mask needed correction. Runway’s preserved guide warns that heavy motion, low contrast, very large masked areas and missing background context could create artifacts.
That navigation is historical. Runway says it removed the All Tools page on April 10, 2026 and moved or deprecated several standalone Magic Tools. Its current deprecation table maps Inpainting to the Edit Video app. A separate preserved Inpainting guide says the old video-project editor retired on July 30, 2026 and points users to Edit Studio. Because Runway’s own help pages use different replacement labels, use the current Apps or Tool Mode interface as the final authority instead of following an old /ai-magic-tools/inpainting/ path.
Scope: Historical standalone-tool navigation and officially named replacements only. Kingy has not hands-on tested the current replacement workflow.

Runway documents 125 one-time, non-expiring credits for Free; 625 credits per month for Standard; 2,250 for Pro and eligible legacy Unlimited subscriptions; and 9,500 for Max. Max can roll over up to one unused month; Standard, Pro and Unlimited credits do not roll over. Runway’s current credit guide lists Gen-4.5 at 12 credits per generated second; this example does not establish every model’s cost.

Freshness and corrections
September 20, 2026 Pacific: added verified individual-plan prices, labelled Unlimited as legacy, and replaced the blanket credit-separation statement with an explicit official-source conflict. The developer credit purchase rate was rechecked and remains US$0.01. This is a source review, not a hands-on test.
