What Meta AI does

Meta AI is Meta’s consumer assistant for questions, writing help, research and creating or editing images. You can use it at meta.ai, in the Meta AI app, and inside WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Facebook. Meta’s current product page also offers iOS and Android downloads and a Mac app marked Beta. Availability and the features shown to an individual account can differ; we have not tested each app or region.

The practical reason to try it is access inside an app you already use. Ask for a caption while using Instagram, work through an everyday question in WhatsApp, or use the web interface for a longer conversation. Those are suggested uses based on the documented interfaces, not results from a Kingy product test. Meta AI’s official product page is the source for current access and feature descriptions.

Choose the right Meta product

This profile covers the consumer assistant. Llama is a separate model family, and Meta’s developer model/API products require their own documentation, access and pricing review. Meta also lists Muse as a separate agent product on the assistant page. A subscription mentioned here does not establish access to a developer API, downloadable model weights or a business agent.

Where it fits

For occasional questions, captions or an image idea, begin with the free experience available to your account. A paid bundle is worth evaluating only if the specific feature you need reaches a limit and the checkout offer states what extra usage you receive. The reviewed announcement describes more image and video generation for Core and Premium but does not provide a numerical allowance in the retained plan descriptions. We have not measured output quality, latency, reliability or value against ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude.

Before relying on a research answer, open its supporting sources and verify the factual points that matter. Before buying for a recurring workflow, try the same task in the interface you intend to use and check whether the relevant feature is enabled. App availability alone does not establish that every mode, connection or generation feature is available to you.

Limits and account boundaries

Meta’s current FAQ says it is testing daily or monthly usage limits for some compute-intensive features. It does not state a single universal free allowance in that FAQ. Keep the account’s current offer and limits separate from the headline claim that everyday use is free.

Personalization, chat history and sharing controls also deserve a check before entering sensitive information. Meta’s original app announcement explains that its Discover feed is a place to post and explore shared AI content, with posting controlled by the user. That announcement is historical launch context, not proof that today’s account settings, privacy protections or regional options are identical. Review the controls in the app you use. Official app announcement.

Evidence and testing scope

For this profile, we reviewed Meta’s current assistant product page and the official Meta One and app announcements on November 7, 2026 UTC. This was a document review. We did not sign in, send prompts, test native apps, generate media, connect private accounts or complete checkout. No hands-on performance claim or numerical usage quota is supported by this review.

Commercial relationship, compensation, affiliate, supplied-access and client status have not been verified for this profile. The record remains under editorial review and is not cleared for search indexing. Broader Product Facts coverage is incomplete; missing fields remain Unknown.
