Read the distortion

Mega-rounds account for 0.0% of disclosed company capital in this view.

That concentration matters. The headline total can look explosive even when the median company is raising far less. Kingy always shows both the full amount and the total excluding rounds of $100 million or more.

Methodology before marketing

What counts—and what does not

Version 2026-08-31 · Every public row links to its primary evidence.

01

AI must be core

AI must be necessary to the product, service, or investment mandate—not merely used internally or mentioned in marketing.

02

Dollars need a defensible basis

Only published or corrected, AI-core-included, verified or corroborated events with disclosed amounts and an amount basis of new capital or confirmed total round enter dollar totals.

03

Fund formation stays separate

Qualifying AI-mandated fund closes have their own ledger and never inflate company-financing totals.

04

Distortion is visible

Every view reports capital with and without rounds of at least $100 million.

Included

  • Priced or unpriced equity
  • Debt financing
  • Grants
  • Qualifying AI-mandated fund closes

Excluded

  • Rumours
  • M&A
  • IPOs
  • Secondary transactions
  • General capex
  • Compute credits or in-kind support
  • Partnerships without financing
  • Nonbinding commitments
  • General investment funds

Known limitations

Announcements can be delayed, incomplete, ambiguous, or absent. Public English-language discovery creates geographic and source bias. Announced capital is not the same as cash received, revenue, adoption, or product quality.

Follow the flow

A dataset is useful. Interpretation makes it actionable.

Kingy’s weekly brief will call out category concentration, unusually large rounds, and what capital movement may mean for builders and operators.
