AI Tool Profile
REA
A local CLI and MCP server for analyzing applications and retaining evidence.
Before you buy
Best for: Developers tracing behavior in software they are authorized to inspect before rebuilding a narrow feature.
Price: Canada/CAD: C$0 MIT code; AI models and commercial decompilers separate
Included: REA-authored code is MIT licensed. The JavaScript analysis workflow can be used locally without purchasing a hosted REA subscription.
Main limits: Analysis retains unknowns and does not prove behavioral equivalence. Native decompilers, agent inference and third-party components have separate costs and licenses.
What Kingy showed: The notes-exporter guide records REA 6.0.0 analysis and reconstruction; an October 19 REA 6.7.0 rerun passed the two analysis commands and one quoted-comma CSV comparison.
Buying details checked 2026-10-22 with region and currency stated above. Historical demonstrations and the broader fact ledger keep their own dates.

Which plan is worth considering
Canada/CAD: C$0 MIT code; AI models and commercial decompilers separate. REA-authored code is MIT licensed. The JavaScript analysis workflow can be used locally without purchasing a hosted REA subscription.
Limits that affect the purchase
Analysis retains unknowns and does not prove behavioral equivalence. Native decompilers, agent inference and third-party components have separate costs and licenses. Free code does not include IDA, Hopper, JEB, model inference or permission to inspect someone else’s application. CLI and local MCP access are documented. The original exercise used the CLI, not a newly registered MCP server.
What the existing demonstration shows
The notes-exporter guide records REA 6.0.0 analysis and reconstruction; an October 19 REA 6.7.0 rerun passed the two analysis commands and one quoted-comma CSV comparison. The scoped 6.7.0 rerun did not repeat the full fourteen-case comparison, original reconstruction or controlled Electron-source checks. This describes the dated retained Kingy record, not a new product test. See the retained Kingy demonstration.
Sources and buying-review date
Buying details checked October 22, 2026. Plan research uses current official sources; demonstration descriptions use the retained Kingy record and any captured creator chapters. No new subscription, paid generation or checkout was performed. The buying-review date does not renew every claim in the broader facts ledger.
