# Report 003: a valid video file can still miss the product brief On September 27, 2026 UTC, Kingy generated one five-second Gen-4.5 clip through the existing Runway Dev playground. The original MP4 downloads, decodes, and passes our duration and portrait-dimension checks. At 4.5 seconds, the cap is cut off by the top edge despite the instruction to keep the whole bottle visible. This is an agent observation of a retained frame, not an independent human acceptance decision. The raw result is 720 × 1280, H.264, 5.041667 seconds, without an audio stream. It has not been edited or upscaled after download. The prompt, seed 111 and request settings were fixed before generation. The source is Kingy's fictional AI-created bottle, not a real commercial product. One request was submitted and succeeded. The provider returned an estimate of 60 credits; the account balance moved from 5,000 to 4,940 credits. At the checked $0.01/credit rate, that is $0.60 of existing credit value. No new cash purchase occurred. The balance observation corroborates the estimate; it is not a provider invoice or a terminal cost field. Tax, the original credit purchase economics and human labor are not established here. Cost per accepted production ad remains unknown. A second planned request, silent Veo 3.1 Fast for 6 seconds, was not submitted. The playground's typed JSON model and displayed pricing disagreed, so the frozen cost rule stopped execution. That is an access/configuration limitation, not a failed Veo generation. No replacement or retry was made. This smoke test checks whether the existing playground can produce a retained, inspectable artifact without creating a new API key. It does not complete a slot in the original 27-session human benchmark, establish a model ranking, measure ad performance, or demonstrate any free tier. One observed framing miss cannot establish a provider failure rate. Reproduce the file check with `python3 verify_export.py gen45-001.mp4`. Compare the source JPEG and the retained 4.5-second frame, then play the full original. The included manifest identifies exact bytes. The verifier inspects local files without a network call. Generated with Runway: https://runway.com/ . Pricing checked at https://docs.dev.runwayml.com/guides/pricing/ . Model family `gen4.5`; API version 2024-11-06; fixed model-weight version not exposed. Request and task IDs are retained in attempts.json. Private upload references, IP addresses, account IDs and payment details are omitted.
