Juniper Ink Map Cabinet
Imaginary-map reading register
Sheet handling
The cabinet uses a short fold-settle stage before a sheet is read. The ivory rail is a handling aid and is not
part of the map's depicted geography. The handler records the stage independently from the reader's notes.
Stage handler
Rae Noll manages the fold-settle stage. The handler checks the sheet after lifting the ivory rail.
Sheet width
An unfolded standard sheet is 46 cm wide. The figure describes the paper width, excluding its folder
tabs.
Reading slip
The reading slip is coded JI-35. Staff copy the request identifier below the code before delivering a
folder.
Turn sequence
Readers turn one sheet at a time. A sheet returns to its labelled position in the folder before the next
sheet is opened.
Fold note
A split fold is recorded next to the sheet identifier. The handler does not call a sheet complete if a panel
remains in a separate repair envelope.
Map boundary
The maps' town names belong to the storytelling collection. No scale on a sheet certifies the existence of
a depicted town or the length of a real journey.
