Bramble Observatory Meteor Echo
Workshop sound-table instructions
Preview and playback
The silent preview shows the participant the notation before playback. The violet strip is a printed aid and is
not a volume control. Playback is a separate workshop stage with its own instruction from the facilitator.
Playback cue
Playback begins when the facilitator raises the
square card. The cue follows the silent preview and
is visible from each participant station.
Tone spacing
The demonstration tone spacing is 240 Hz. This
value labels the table example and is not a property
assigned to all meteor echoes.
Worksheet code
The workshop worksheet is coded BM-72.
Participants write their station letter beneath the
code.
Printed aid
The violet strip remains on the table during
playback. Participants can compare its marks with
the sounds, but they do not edit the printed strip.
Replay request
A participant can raise a station card to request a
replay. The facilitator notes the request before
deciding when to repeat the demonstration track.
Control distinction
Participants use only the station controls described
at the table. The facilitator's control station remains
with the facilitator for the whole workshop.
