Bramble Observatory Meteor Echo
Workshop sound-table instructions
Workshop entry
Bramble Observatory runs the imaginary Meteor Echo workshop, which turns invented meteor tracks into
sounds at a table. These are demonstration tracks rather than observations of real meteors. The workshop's
instruments are described only for this activity.
Entry session
The first workshop begins at 11:45. Participants
gather at the sound-table sign before the facilitator
checks the session list.
Table capacity
The sound table has 8 participant stations. The
facilitator's control station is separate and does not
add a participant place.
Starting track
The demonstration starts with track Flint. The
facilitator plays it once before inviting participants to
use their station controls.
Muted stage
During the silent preview, participants read the violet
strip. The facilitator keeps the table's audio muted
for that stage.
Station cards
Station cards carry letters rather than names.
Participants use the same letter in their worksheet
so that the facilitator can identify an observation
without calling a name aloud.
Example boundary
The track labels are names for demonstration
material. They do not identify meteorites, forecast a
sky event or claim that the table captured a
particular historical observation.
